Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 is built around licensed, real-world machines: Skyhook Games partnered with three manufacturers to recreate selected machines from their actual line-ups, and at launch you get 15 pieces of equipment — three more than the first game shipped with.

One STIGA mower slot was still marked TBC on the official chart as of the developer's launch equipment round-up — Skyhook says it will be revealed on their social channels.

Licensing works both ways: Skyhook's own round-up notes the studio "can't include a manufacturer or their equipment in the game without permission" — every brand in the game is a signed deal, not a lookalike.
Tool categories
- Mowers — twelve ride-on/zero-turn class machines covering six steering styles: out-front zero turn, mid-mounted ride-on, stand-on, rear steer, tractor and articulated (the achievement list names one purchase achievement per type).
- String trimmers — edges, fence lines, detail work the mower can't do.
- Leaf blowers — the headline new tool; blow leaves into a tarp to clear a plot (playable in the demo), with a backpack blower of its own.
- Brushcutter — heavy growth beyond what a trimmer handles.
